Spring is a great time to explore your cities attractions.
Here are just a few activities that are happening around some of Australia’s cities in Spring!
The Art and About festival ends this Sunday 20th October in Sydney. The theme this year is private lives….public places. Located in Hyde Park and various venues around Sydney City, both International and Australian artist transform Sydney’s Streets, parks and other spaces. From giant colourful snails to a large field of mirror mazes, Sydney’s CBD public spaces will be viewed in a different way.
The 17th Canberra International Film Festival is taking place over 12 days from 30th October until 10th November 2013. Films and documentaries from around the world are showcased as well as Q&A sessions and panel discussions with directors, producers and actors. It is located in Dendy Cinemas Canberra City and opens nightly between 6:30pm – 9pm.
Diwali Festival (or festival of lights) is on in Fortitude Valley Saturday 26th October from 5pm – 10pm. Head down to the Chinatown Mall, Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley to enjoy the atmosphere created by the festive lights, energetic music, dance performance and cuisine. This event is one of the most important festivals of the year in India.
Perth’s Free outdoor cinema is located at The Northbridge Piazza. The permanent screen showcases a variety of films, presentations, sport and music. The Piazza is framed by the multi-purpose Community Building, a versatile stage, an outdoor LED screen and an illuminated 8 metre high feature ‘Green Wall’. A range of activities occur in this space including performances, exhibitions, festivals, sporting events and other cultural activities.
