An Australian Christmas

When you think of Christmas you see images of cold snowy conditions……… not in Australia!

Christmas falls in the middle of summer, Christmas dinner is seafood on the barbecue with family and friends, boxing day is fun in the sun on one of Australia’s many stunning golden beaches.

There are always lots of events over the Christmas period, anything from Christmas carols to the Santa run. Another aspect are the Christmas lights. In most states people decorate their homes for charity, just asking for a small donation to view the display. Australians take this very seriously, so much so a Canberra household held the world record for ‘most lights on a residential property’ with over half a million bulbs in 2013. The public light displays are also very impressive in the state capital CBD’s.
